Two weeks later I received a call
letting me know that my special order stuff had come in. Stopping
by after work found my items again stacked up and ready to go
at the customer service desk. (I really like that!) I brought
them home and put the boxes in the very crowded room intending
on starting assembly the next morning.
The next morning was spent trimming branches from the huge oak
tree that overshadows the house. Another hurricane was on it's
way to Florida. This one, Wilma, is a record maker. catagory one
to five in a few hours and the expected path is right across south
to mid Florida. Fortunately it landed well south of us and only
a bit of clean up was needed.
Each day after work had me doing a little assembly work before
getting on my computer to play my on-line game. By the end of
the week all of the roll outs and shelves where in place and it
was ready for knobs, handles, and final touches.
The next weekend was spent cleaning the rest of the room out
and moving in her desk, file cabinet, and sewing table. I also
installed the receiver from the living room into the closet and
put the other one up for sale on E-bay. The TV stand did not go
at all with the new decor so I ended up fixing a broken end table
that she found at one of the thrift stores.
I had planned on using the wooden from the kitchen in the craft
room and replacing the kitchen ones with new. But the new ones
came with screws much too short to go through the kitchen drawers.
And the new ones required machine screws while the old ones used
a wood screws.Off to Home Depot to buy longer screws I go.
While there a TV wall stand caught my eye. I figured that would
be a nice way to free up some floor space for her. Mount the TV
up in the corner of the room to provide space for her easy chair.
She could then sit in a comfortable chair to do hand sewing and
such while either watching TV or listening to music.
I plan on getting the knobs and TV shelf in this week after work.
Add in putting another couple hundred E-bay auctions for magic
the Gathering Cards and computer stuff and my game play looks
to be slim this week. |
